Nikon D800 Specs – Since the Nikon D800 will supposedly replace the Nikon D700, the specs are likely to be similar. However, owing to technological advances, you should see a nice notch up on the “AWESOMENESS” scale.

The following are what are generally considered to be the highlights of the Nikon D800 Specs. Since there isn’t any official word on the Nikon D800 release date, you will have to take this with a grain of salt.

  • Viewfinder Full coverage
  • Face recognition
  • CF+SD memory card slots
  • ISO range: 100 – 6400, ISO LO @ 50 and ISO HI-2 @ 25600
  • A screen surpassing the 3 inch mark
  • 200k shutter cycles
  • HD Video at 1080p/30/25/24 and 720p/60/30/25/24

Nikon D800 Specs

Since the Nikon D800 release date has not been officially released, we will have to go on some Nikon D800 rumors. One of the things about the Nikon D800 is that it will have to go head-to-head with Canon’s latest offerings.

It is likely that the Nikon D800 specs will have to contend with Canon’s 5D Mark III. And since the Nikon D700 was released in 2008, this update is LONG overdue!

Nikon D800 Release Date – Originally slated to be released for Feb/Mar 2011, theNikon D800 release date has been postponed to at least Q1 2012. Typically, Nikon releases dates of new products is around February but 2011 saw a dearth of such pronouncements from Nikon.

Other things that make the camera stand out would probably be the following Nikon D800 specs:

  • 51 Point AF system
  • USB 3
  • 4fps (possibly 6-7fps with battery pack)
  • Mic in
